Trump’s White House Crypto Summit: A Game-Changer for Digital Assets

As the anticipation builds for the first-ever White House Crypto Summit on March 7, 2023, hosted by US President Donald Trump, the cryptocurrency industry is keenly observing the guest list. This significant roundtable event, scheduled from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM UTC, is expected to gather over 25 influential participants, including members of the Presidential Working Group on Digital Assets.

Confirmed Attendees and Speculations

According to Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett, the confirmed attendees so far include Bo Hines and David Sacks. However, the complete list remains unclear. The Presidential Working Group, as outlined in Trump’s executive order, also comprises notable figures such as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Attorney General Pam Bondi, the SEC chair, and the CFTC chair.

Interestingly, while Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse was not mentioned in Terrett’s initial list, he hinted at his potential attendance in a post on X on March 2, shortly after Trump’s crypto czar, David Sacks, made headlines on March 1. This suggests that Garlinghouse may have been among the first executives to receive an invitation, which was reportedly emailed to attendees on March 4.

Exclusive Reception Planned

In addition to the roundtable, an exclusive invite-only reception is being organized across the street from the White House for those not invited to the main event. Terrett noted that these plans are still in the works and may evolve as the date approaches.

Calls for Inclusion of Key Industry Figures

As speculation around the summit intensifies, the crypto community is advocating for the inclusion of other prominent industry leaders. Notable figures such as ARK Invest founder Cathie Wood, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Circle co-founder Jeremy Allaire, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, and Solana founder Anatoly Yakovenko have been suggested as essential attendees.

“Now there will be the question of, how do we handle the other cryptocurrencies? And I think the model is going to be announced on Friday when we do that,” Lutnick reportedly stated, hinting at potential policy announcements that could emerge from the summit.

The Future of Digital Assets

The upcoming White House Crypto Summit is poised to be a pivotal moment for the cryptocurrency landscape in the United States. With key industry leaders and government officials in attendance, discussions could lead to significant policy shifts that impact the future of digital assets.

As the crypto community eagerly awaits further announcements, the implications of this summit could resonate throughout the industry, shaping regulations and fostering innovation. The inclusion of diverse voices from the crypto sector will be crucial in ensuring that the summit addresses the needs and concerns of all stakeholders.
